CLASS 4,5 AIRPORT FIRE APPARATUS from KME

Bulldog Fire Apparatus offers a wide range of emergency vehicles, including Class 4 and Class 5 fire units fully capable of serving the needs of airports all over the world. The KME FORCE™ Airport Apparatus Class 4 and 5 are the largest in the fleet and are custom built on an KME ARFF chassis. These units offer Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) body and cab configurations that provide both lightweight structure support and durability. Each unit complies with NFPA 414 and FAA testing, so they're ready to take on any airport emergency.

    VARIATIONS:

  • KME FORCE Series A/T- Air transportable ARFF configuration with 1250 gallons of water, 120 gallons of foam and a wide array of standard features and options.
  • KME FORCE Series Class 4- KME custom 4 X 4 chassis, 1500 gallons of water/200 gallons of foam, 500 lb dry chemical systems, Halotron systems, wide variety of roof and bumper turret options and a long list of standard features that set the industry standard for performance and value.
  • KME FORCE Series Class 5- KME custom 6 X 6 or 8 X 8 chassis with water capacities ranging from 3000 to 4500 gallons and foam capacities from 400 to 600 gallons. Options include 500 lb dry chemical systems, Halotron systems, wide variety of roof and bumper turret options and a long list of standard features that set the industry standard for performance and value.

Superior Body Design

KME FORCE™ Airport Apparatus Series Class 4 and 5 units offer the most abundant compartment configurations of any truck in the industry. KME FORCE™ Series Class 4 and Class 5 units feature glass reinforced polyester (GRP) construction, which helps maintain its lightweight structure, as well as its highly configurable body compartments that also include seamlessly integrated water and foam tanks. The reduced weight and low center of gravity gives the Class 4 and 5 an excellent edge when it comes to extreme airport emergencies.

KME’s FORCE™ Airport Apparatus Series Class 4 and 5 units offer plenty of options sure to meet any major airport’s every need. From custom body configurations and sophisticated FLIR® systems, to extendable booms or other special options, the Class 4 and 5 make an excellent addition to any airport emergency response fleet.

High Visibility Cab

The KME FORCE™ Airport Apparatus Class 4 and 5 series cabs feature industry-leading visibility that exceed NFPA 414 requirements.  The extended cabs offer seating for up to five (5) and provide a 60,000 BTU heating and air conditioning system, a deluge system, as well as a sliding roof access hatch.

Unparalleled Testing

KME maintains a full, state-of-the-art testing facility on site at its Nesquehoning, PA world headquarters. Here, KME performs rigorous off-road driving tests, certified grade assurance, and tilt table tests. As always, KME ensures that each one of their airport fire apparatus meet or exceed all NFPA 414 and FAA requirements. KME maintains an “open-door” policy when it comes to their testing procedures; they welcome their customers to witness any or all tests of their apparatus, prior to its delivery.

Maintenance Access

Removable access panels located in key areas on the KME FORCE™ Airport Apparatus Class 4 and 5 units allow for easy maintenance. These vehicles also feature a hinged engine enclosure, which allows for a virtually unrestricted method of access for maintenance and other mechanical functions. KME’s open-through plumbing design allows for complete mechanical access to the apparatus pumps to aid in the most efficient plumbing maintenance possible.

Suspension Performance

KME FORCE™ Series Class 4 and Class 5 apparatus feature an innovative coil spring over live rigid axle configuration, which allows for superior wheel movement with fewer moving parts. This configuration results in the perfect harmony between ease of maintenance and vehicle performance. KME FORCE™ series ARFF chassis vehicles come equipped with the most centered and balanced suspension of any airport apparatus in the industry.
