KME Airport Apparatus models include Class 1, 2 and 3 units, each specifically designed to function within smaller airports or to act as a supplement for larger airports. KME Airport Fire Trucks are available on a wide variety of commercial chassis with customizable body configurations to meet your specific needs. Each airport fire apparatus from KME is subjected to an array of NFPA 414 and FAA testing completed at KME's facility in front of customers to ensure reliability and confidence in your KME unit.

Specifications for KME's Airport Class 1,2,3 Fire Apparatus


  • KME FORCE Series Class 1 RIV- Custom aluminum rescue body, 150 gallons AFFF premix with CAFS option and 500 lbs dry chemical. Standard and low profile units all on a variety of commercial chassis configurations.
  • KME FORCE Series Class 2 RIV- Custom aluminum rescue body, 400 gallons of water, 50 gallons of foam, 500 lbs dry chemical and a separate engine driven pump for superior pump and roll performance.
  • KME FORCE Series Class 3 RIV- Custom aluminum rescue body, 500 to 750 gallons of water, 60 gallons of foam, 500 lbs dry chemical, separate engine driven pump or PTO pump configuration, short and long rescue body configurations built on a variety of commercial chassis configurations.

Unparalleled Testing

KME maintains a full, state-of-the-art testing facility on site at its Nesquehoning, PA world headquarters. Here, KME performs rigorous off-road driving tests, certified grade assurance, and tilt table tests. As always, KME ensures that each one of their airport fire apparatus meet or exceed all NFPA 414 and FAA requirements. KME maintains an “open-door” policy when it comes to their testing procedures; they welcome their customers to witness any or all tests of their apparatus, prior to its delivery.
